From September 11-12, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada, the National Legal Aid & Defender Association will host the third meeting of the Defender Research Consortium, a community of public defenders, researchers, technologists, and policy advocates who meet annually to discuss ways to increase and improve research about indigent defense systems. The meeting will continue the consortium's discussion of "quality indigent defense" and examine efforts under way to put "quality indicators" into place to assess system performance. It will connect these discussions to the broader work of Measures for Justice, a bold initiative to collect criminal justice system performance data from every county in the United States. In addition, participants are invited to bring their own research problems for group sessions.
Attendance is very limited and only a few spots remain. Register here.
